congrats to all the glow scholars

as many of you know (more on that later), i mentor two students, jonathon and miriam, at the glow foundation, a nfp that provides financial education and makes college education a reality for underserved youth.

it has been a great experience  getting to know the students. many of them come from incredibly challenging backgrounds, and yet there they are, willing to learn and take on the challenges of applying for school and finding the financial aid necessary for making their dreams of a college education a reality.

tuesday was the “graduation” banquet, where we handed out scholarships and awards. it was a great moment, seeing so many of their college dreams come true.

i also had the following conversation with adam, one of the foundations co-founders. keep in mind, i had only met him on one previous occasion.

adam: hey, i might be totally wrong here, but youre angry ninja arent you?
me: (totally surprised) yeah.
adam: dude. youre site is totally awesome. im a google analytics freak and you drive a lot of traffic to the glow site.
me: really?
adam: yeah. its google, yahoo, facebook, and then you.

so yeah, apparently many of you know that i am affiliated in some way to the glow foundation and are clicking on the links. thank you for your interest. hopefully some of you are donating to the cause. also, we are always looking for more volunteers, so let me know if you are interested.

also, apparently i look like the kind of person that runs a site like www.angryninja.com. after all, i had only met adam once.

i did it again.

went to work out, jumped in shower, toweled off, reached in my gym bag…

yes. i did it again. but instead of forgetting my pants and being the no-pants ninja like last time, i had no work shoes. there i was, collared shirt, slacks, and running shoes. not a good look. i really need to pay more attention when i pack my gym bag.

inventing food

see that? looks pretty good huh? kinda like some tasty fried rice. well, it was tasty, and it was kinda like fried rice.

you see, i came back from work really really hungry. i thought i had all the ingredients for fried rice.

• rice? check
• frozen vegetable medley? check
• eggs? check
• chicken/sausage/lunch meat? doh!

so i was one ingredient down and in no mood to go to safeway to pick up the missing piece. what i did have in the fridge was… wait for it…

• pepperoni.

yes, as in the pizza topping. so there you have it. pepperoni fried rice for dinner. my mom would be so proud. luckily, it was decent. im just dreading the day when all i have left in the fridge is milk and potatoes. *shudder*

okay. now im pumped!

i think you missed the point of the game…

there are just so many things wrong with the above clip.

• first of all, beer pong gets a t for teen rating? someone at the esrb must have dropped the ball on that one. there are pictures of beer bottles and kegs everywhere in the game.
• secondly, why is grandpa playing beer pong frat party games? see 0:16
• thirdly, why are girls always cheating? see 0:25, 0:37

last of all (and most important to some), where is all the beer? isnt the entire point of the game to make the losers get sloshed?
