inception… plus teenage mutant angry ninjas

watched inception yesterday. its still blowing my mind. i dont think theres anything that nolan directs, or leonardo acts in that i wont watch anymore. i mean, that movie made me dream of talking dogs, trash bags full of cash/brocolli, pizza joints, and policemen. and the entire thing made sense to me in my brain. i woke up thinking that kaden could talk to me. then i thought about the movie the entire day.

speaking of leonardo, i was inspired to create this t shirt after watching the movie. why i hadnt thought of it before, i dont know. it has all of the right ingredients:

• angry ninjas
• ninja turtles
• awesomeness
• swords

maybe this idea could only come to me after watching inception.

ps. during the movie, i kept waiting for batman to jump out and kick  scarecrow and ras al ghul in their faces.

no jinx this time on san jose sharks t shirt please!

sharks are in the second round. it is a very new feeling. in honor of them playing the red wings, i will attempt to incorporate chicken wings in all of my meals during game days. kfc double down, here i come.

back to basics.

im a big fan of simple shirts. while others may go for shirts that look like birthday cake or have a disco rave show going on on them, i prefer a a simple logo. see the first angry ninja shirt i designed.

so ive been racking my brain recently on the next round of shirts to unveil. then last saturday, im flipping through my closet and see my thundercats t shirt. inspiration strikes.

a few observations:

• the red one looks like thundercats
• the yellow one looks like captain hammer/watchmen
• the green one looks like the green lantern
• the blue one just plain looks cool
• the white one looks like oreo cookies

looks like other people like simple logo designs too.

san jose sharks t shirts – angry ninjafied

dont wanna jinx em, but the san jose sharks are off to a pretty good start. now im not the biggest hockey fan in the world, but i do have some bay area love, so i present to you: shark ninja t shirt.

plus, ive been getting requests for a sharks themed t shirt. luckily, i went with a shark mask (reminds me of nabbys old helmet) this time, instead of a ninja riding a shark.

thats probably a good call.

little big planet angry ninja sackboy t shirts

boo. little big planet has been delayed. i was really looking forward to playing the game this weekend and creating some awesome levels – some that include jumping, swinging, fires, spikes, snakes, robots, missiles, cars – the whole nine.

trust me, i know how to make a good video game level – ive been studying up on the subject.

the main character, sackboy, looks pretty awesome, so how does this delay make me feel? pretty much like the angry ninja sackboy on the t shirts below. so while you cant enjoy the game yet, you can enjoy these t shirts.

subtlety is not my forte

angry ninja has never been the most subtle with his intentions while in the “dating” phase of a relationship. in fact, while in a relationship, the following conversation usually occurs:

me: why did you decide to go out with me?
lady: well, i knew you liked me.
me: whaaaaa?! how did you know that?
lady: well you wouldnt stop asking for my number, and then you wouldnt stop calling me, and then you added me on facebook, and wanted to hang out all the time…
me: so how did you know that i liked you?
lady: ….

so there you have it. i dont beat around the bush when it comes to my intentions with a lady. you shouldnt either. thats what this chinese food doggie bag take out box t shirt is all about.

if she doenst know you want to go out and eat some chinese food with her when she sees this shirt, you really have to step up your game there buddy.

side note on the zazzle store. some of you may not know this, but i leave all of my shirts fully customizable on the store. this means that you can take one of my designs, put it on a mens/womens/kids shirt dark or light, and change all of the text. you can even choose the shirt material, 100% cotton, vintage shirt, heavy duty, etc. the shirts that i have predesigned on the webstore are just a simple guide to what the shirts could look like.

one super busy weekend

angry ninja so tired from weekend. lady was gone, so it was filled with angry ninja with friends activities.

thursday night

1. after dropping off the lady at the airport, went to fu lam mum for their late night dim sum. four shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings, and three custard buns later, i am stuffed. and its also 12 oclock. way past my bedtime for a weeknight.

friday night

1. tgi fridays is one happening place. what makes it so? happy hour from 10 pm to 12 am. half off beers and appetizers == super full. also super sleepy. always get the sesame jack chicken.

saturday

1. the day was spent hanging out with my cousin, helping my dad repair the deck (made me feel manly) in the backyard, watching burn after reading, making shepherds pie (recipe to follow later – so delicious), and going out to bjs for appetizers and drinks. i think i just described enough activities for an entire weekend right there.

people complain to me that i never update enough.  its not for lack of trying i promise you. sometimes, i get a little busy, and sometimes, im just not having adventures.

what a bridal bazzar

that was quite a weekend. for those of you who couldnt read between the lines,  i was in vegas for a bachelor party, i mean bridal bazzar. good times all around. heres a mini recap of some of the events. dont worry. this post is sfw:

del friscos

after landing in beautiful las vegas, the first thing we did was head out to del friscos. you might have not heard of this joint before, but our cabbie said that it was the best steakhouse in all of vegas. now i havent eaten at all the steakhouses in vegas, so i cant give a real comparison, but it really was one of the best steaks ive had.

venetian

we stayed at the venetian. now im not sure if this is normal, but that hotel smells really weird. i was told that each of the hotels purposely have a distinct smell piped in – im just not sure why the venetians smell had to be vanilla funk. the suites were really nice and large, so we werent tripping all over each other. one weird thing – it is impossible to get anywhere in that hotel without going through a maze of elevators/hallways. this makes it hard to navigate at 6 in the morning. especially when youre stuck in an elevator with strangers.

friend: why he heck are we stopping on every floor?

me: i think that guy was leaning on all of the buttons with his shoulder.
friend: you mean that guy that just got off? we need to go fight him.

rating: 4/5 angry ninjas (would have been 5/5 if not for funky vanilla odor and rat maze)

pai gow poker

out of all the times ive been to vegas, i had yet to find a game i really enjoyed. my friends all enjoy blackjack (game goes too fast), poker (requires too much thinking), and roulette (holy moley, im not even going to get into this one) to some degree, but ive never really found a game that i really felt comfortable playing. until pai gow poker. its especially awesome when you get a kick ass dealer that does things like this:

friend shows hand
dealer (while slapping friends hand): are you serious?! what did i say?! 6 or higher, you split!
friend: oh i forgot.
dealer (grabs one of his $5 chips): if you win this hand, you give me this chip. if you lose this hand, ill give you it back.

now imagine that going on for the entire 3 hours we sat at the table. awesome

rating: 5/5 angry ninjas (probably because i didnt lose money)

overall, it was definitely a great experience. we went with a group of solid guys and had just enough events planned so that we werent bored at any time of the day. it was nice to spend some time with the bachelor, who ive known for 19 years. mike, youve always been the older brother i never had, and i know you expressed some interest in angry ninja t shirts, so this ones for you. your lady is lucky to have such a stand-up guy.

ps. it feels great to not have to share a bed with another dude anymore.
