what would happen if…

August 1st, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in design, gaming, store

you know me. i loved my nes. i loved my snes. but i also loved my psone, ps2 and ps3. i know, nintendo and sony products, coexisting in my house. who would have thunk?

not all game enthusiasts are as open minded as i am. being a fan of video games, one is subject to a lot of fanboys. what is a fanboy you ask?

Fanboy (sometimes spelled fanboi) is a term used to describe an individual who is devoted to a single subject in an emotional or fanatical manner, or to a single point of view within that subject, often to the point where it is considered an obsession.

now i ask, “cant we all just get along?” i mean i enjoy video games as much as the next guy (okay probably a little bit more), but ive been known to play the xbox, the wii, and the ps3. egad! a guy who plays all three consoles?! the world must be ending! i say, who cares what console you are playing on, as long as you are having a fun time?

this next shirt is dedicated to all those gamers who share my mindset - whether you enjoy nintendo, or sony. its a mashup between two flagship characters of these two consoles: mario and solid snake.

before: super mario + solid snake

after: super mario solid snake mashup t shirt

side note on the zazzle store. some of you may not know this, but i leave all of my shirts fully customizable on the store. this means that you can take one of my designs, put it on a mens/womens/kids shirt dark or light, and change all of the text. you can even choose the shirt material, 100% cotton, vintage shirt, heavy duty, etc. the shirts that i have predesigned on the webstore are just a simple guide to what the shirts could look like.

its a snake in a box

June 27th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in adventure, gaming, movies, news

some of you wonder where the inspiration behind my metal gear solid box t shirt comes from.

you: i dont get your metal gear solid box t shirt.
me: its kind of a inside joke, the main character hides in a box to avoid being seen.
you: … i dont believe… you…

well fellow angry ninja reader, you better believe. and not only are there people like me making t shirts about that video game, there are people making origami arts and crafts. below you will find the one that i put together.

papercraft source

this weekend, i plan on finishing up metal gear solid 4. it actually makes me kind of sad, knowing that this will be my last adventure as solid snake. i think im pretty close to the end and ive been putting off completing it during the weekdays because i want to really take the time to soak in the story line. it really is something else.

i also plan on catching wanted. looks pretty freaking awesome. the movie kind of reminds me of assassins creed - a fraternity of assassins, kill one to save a thousand, etc. hit me up if you dont have anything to do sunday night and want to watch. my eyes will be glued to james mcavoy. i mean angelina jolie.

wait what?

June 19th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in design, gaming, news, store

it might be because metal gear solid 4 was released last week. it might be because the game has gotten some pretty awesome reviews . regardless of the reason, you guys have been picking up my metal gear solid box t shirt . it has been selling like hotcakes. i thank you, and the glow foundation thanks you as well.

in light of the t shirts popularity, ive designed some more metal gear inspired ts. those of you familiar with the franchise will recognize the dog tags. some have solid snake on them, some have angry ninjas. to each his own. hope you enjoy!

ps. some of the logos are centered, others are not. you can get creative and place them wherever you want on the shirt by clickin "customize."

side note on the zazzle store. some of you may not know this, but i leave all of my shirts fully customizable on the store. this means that you can take one of my designs, put it on a mens/womens/kids shirt dark or light, and change all of the text. you can even choose the shirt material, 100% cotton, vintage shirt, heavy duty, etc. the shirts that i have predesigned on the webstore are just a simple guide to what the shirts could look like.

i am so excited for metal gear solid 4. yes, i am a super dork

May 22nd, 2008 | 3 Comments | Posted in design, gaming, news, store

oh man oh man. i am a giant metal gear solid freak. its the reason i bought a ps2. its a reason i own a ps3. its basically the reason i am into video games today. below is a running time line of my history with the metal gear solid franchise, 10 years in the making.

side note, if you have these game consoles, you owe it yourself to play these games. you can get all 3 currrent games for $29 .

metal gear solid released on the psone - october 21, 1998

  • october 24-31 - i overthrow liquid snake and destroy metal gear rex (i love shooting stinger missles by the way). i receive the bandana.
  • november 7-8 - i play through metal gear solid once again with the bandana. i receive the sneaking suit
  • november 14-15 i play through metal gear solid once again with the sneaking suit. i receive the tuxedo. what good is a tuxedo in a tactical espionage game!? screw that. no more play throughs.

metal gear solid 2: sons of liberty released on ps2 - november 14, 2001

  • im at cal. cannot play due to finals. get home for winter break and lock myself in my room with my ps2 for 2 weeks to beat the game. take that vamp! very disappointed that i have to play the 2/3 of the game as raiden. still enjoy it enough to play through it twice.

metal gear solid 3: snake eater released on ps2 - november 17, 2004

  • no longer at cal, beat the game in 2 weeks. during the middle of the second play through, decided (correctly?) that having a job was probably more important.

so thats six and a half playthroughs. six and a half times at approximately 20 hours each is… a lot of hours, and a lot of good times.

now on the predicting the future (just call me nostradamus)…

metal gear solid 4: guns of the patriots will be released on ps3 - june 12, 2008

  • june 12 - ???. ps3? check. dualshock3 controller? currently being shipped. htdv? check. couch? check. pizza? will be ordered. okay all systems go. the lady must be thrilled.

in honor of this momentous occasion, and to the end of a great era in gaming (mgs4 is rumored to be the last of the “solid” titles), i bring you: box - hide here. those of you familiar with mgs will instantly appreciate a good hiding box. side note - the shipping label on the box reads, “ship to: angry ninja.” just a little personal touch.

ps. people seem to be loving this shirt. its currently my best-seller.

side note on the zazzle store. some of you may not know this, but i leave all of my shirts fully customizable on the store. this means that you can take one of my designs, put it on a mens/womens/kids shirt dark or light, and change all of the text. you can even choose the shirt material, 100% cotton, vintage shirt, heavy duty, etc. the shirts that i have predesigned on the webstore are just a simple guide to what the shirts could look like.
