why design t shirts?
the first question people ask me when hearing about/visiting this site is “why design t shirts?” the answer is not as complicated as one might think:
t shirts are awesome.
as i get older, i get fewer and fewer chances to wear them. these days, their rotation is down to casual fridays, after work, or on the weekends.
as the opportunity to wear t shirts has decreased, my love for them has exponentially increased. i like t shirts because they say a little something about me, and i associate a memory with each of them. below is just a small sample of what is currently in my closet.
clockwise from the top left:
green super mario 1 up t: i bought this shirt while i was visiting my sister for her surprise birthday party last year in la. all in all, it was a great time.
yellow throwback warriors t: i bought this shirt while i was watching the warriors in the playoff series against the jazz last year. this was during a fun time - it was my birthday week and i spent a lot of it at old pro.
red linkin park projekt revolution t: i bought this shirt during their 2007 tour. i have a couple of linkin park shirts. awesome show, partly because we sprang for the good seats (not on the lawn).
blue split t - i bought this sophomore year at cal when i was visiting my friend chris in orange county over summer break. i love the beach and i love surfing (poorly).
black linkin park t - i actually made this t shirt because i was unhappy with the selection of linkin park logo ts available on their band merch store. have i mentioned that i love linkin park?
grey vintage strictly for my ninjas t - bought this at urban outfitters last year. i like vintage ts because they are incredibly soft, and i like funny plays on words.
red santa cruz t - bought this while in santa cruz 3 years ago. i cant ever seem to visit santa cruz without picking up a t shirt.
black thundercats logo t - i actually bought this shirt last year at target with gookie. he ended up buying a “my nuts are bigger than your nuts” t shirt. i am a big big big fan of 80s cartoons - thundercats, voltron (cars and lions), transformers, tiger sharks, you name it, i loved it. looking back, they all seem so similar, especially the two voltrons and tiger sharks/thundercats.
angry ninja t in the middle. this one is probably pretty self explanatory. its the first angry ninja t ever made.
so what do these shirts say about me? i like video games, local sports teams, nostalgic cartoons, linkin park, ninjas, funny sayings, and all beaches. i dont think i could have summed myself up better in any other way. dress shirts, polos, or any other type of clothing woudlnt be able to say that much about me.
